To complete a probate submission for HMRC, it is likely that you will be required to obtain a professional valuation of all items within an estate. A probate valuation is a detailed inventory of these items, giving descriptions and the current open market values for works of art, antiques, jewellery, watches, furniture, silver, cars, and household items.
HMRC guidance requests that all items valued over £1500 are to be itemised individually. Any items below this threshold are often valued as part of group totals. We can provide a more comprehensive list of descriptions and values for items valued under £1500 if instructed to do so.
Our experts will visit the property to carry out the probate valuation and send you the online report and hard copy within 5 working days. Once probate has been granted, Wimbledon Auctions can facilitate the sale of valuable items from the estate in one of our upcoming auctions. We also work with local clearance specialists and charities and should we be instructed, can facilitate the removal of all other items on your behalf.
