The drawing on paper, laid on paper, labelled in pencil to verso 'Guercino da cento'. Originally mounted in a frame and glazed. The drawing has been removed from the frame for inspection. Light reveals an octagonal or decagonal watermark on the paper over the man's face (see photos)
