The finished painting is in the Council Chamber of the Town Hall, known as the ‘Pala della Peste’ (Plague Altarpiece). Executed in 1693 by the Venetian #painter Andrea Celesti, the figures tell of the end of the Black Death, which had infested Lonato and its entire territory in 1630.
